In between there are homestead-style accommodation, fully self-contained cottages and camping and caravan parks.

Must See on Kangaroo Island.

Flinders Chase National Park is one of the highlights of any trip to Kangaroo Island with its wildlife experience up close and very personal, where Kangaroos come right up to your vehicle and are very comfortable with tourists, they enjoy a pat and a photo shoot. Remarkable Rocks are one of the truly amazing natural structures on the island, eroded by sand and sea over millions of years they are one of the most photographed rock formations on the island.

Admirals Arch is another natural rock formation this time formed in an arch formation where you can access underneath for some sensational photo shots of the stalactites overhead with the Southern Ocean as a magnificent backdrop.

Kelly Hill Caves are truly amazing; for a small fee you will be escorted in small personal groups down into the cave system where you will see the most beautiful natural rock erosion with a myriad of colours and textures the stalactites and stalagmites through the light of your head torch is breathtaking.

The Kangaroo Island Penguin Centre is a must-do night experience where you can witness the procession of the penguins as they come ashore and head for their burrows. The Penguin Aquariums are truly amazing under the floodlights and are definitely worth the effort.

Vivonne Bay is regarded by some as the best beach in the whole of Australia due to its Pristine White beaches and turquoise waters.

Seal Bay is very much a favourite with all tourists and locals alike. Get up very close with the Seals and their pups on the beach with many fantastic photo opportunities here. One minute the seals are lazing around in the sun with their young then they burst into action scurrying into the surf and surfing the breakers rolling in.

Stokes Bay on the North Coast is a great place to seek shelter from those strong Southerly winds that can pop up from time to time on the island. Wander through a naturally formed tunnel eroded through the rocks and on the other side you will have your breath taken away momentarily when you exit onto a magnificent tranquil beach with a rock pool that just welcomes everybody in for a dip.

There is so much more to see and do on this unspoilt island and the best way by far to take in Kangaroo Island is by a fully guided day tour to all the truly beautiful locations with a local expert who will keep you informed, entertained and very well fed with local products.
